In 1980, Jay Kamin opened the Money Tree at 3600 East State in Rockford as a buyer of coins, gold and silver. Perhaps you remember our TV commercials, “Turn rings into cash!”.

Purchasing and selling Estate Jewelry and diamonds became an integral part of our business. We developed a reputation as the go-to store in this area to sell precious metals and jewelry.

We slowly added new lines of jewelry to complement our estate offerings. Citizen Watches was one of our first additional brands, and we still carry a large selection of Citizen Eco-Drive watches. 

In 1996 we moved to our current location at State Street and Mulford. In 2000 we changed our name to J Kamin Jewelers to reflect the changes in our business.

J Kamin Jewelers is a work in progress… growing our jewelry store business one customer at a time. We hope to add you soon and show you why our motto is “Quality Within Your Reach.”
